Description

Greetings Gamers -

Update: 13 Apr, 2024:

Currently (as of Mar 18, 2024), I am no longer searching for a new player. I successfully found a new player by posting a Looking For Player announcement on the 'Electronic Bulletin Board' where I work. It reaches a work force of over 10,000 people, and someone who works at a nearby facility responded. The candidate went through a 2 month long evaluation period, attending three sessions, asking numerous questions, and ultimately decided that our campaign was a good match (for our existing players, and the new candidate). The new player was accepted as a permanent member of our group on the 18th of Mar, 2024. Hopefully, he'll be a player for years to come.

If you're still interested in my campaign, and would like to be added to our waiting list, please feel free to contact me (see below for details). We have two lists - A 'Drop-In' support list, where you can participate whenever we have a temporary vacancy, and a long term 'Waiting' list, in the event that a permanently seated player leaves our group. You could be on either or both lists.

-----------

Currently (as of 13 Feb, 2024), I am in the midst of a search for a new player. I'm currently evaluating a candidate that responded from a 'LFP' announcement posted on the electronic bulletin board at work. If that candidate doesn't work out (f0r whatever reason), I'll continue posting online solicitation at various websites/forums (including The 'rpggamefind' site). We lost one of our permanently seated players when he changed jobs and moved out of the local area. That was July of 2023. Sometimes, it can take a long time to find a new player. Other than the one remote player (actually a duo), our group is meeting entirely in-person (f2f Face-To-Face) in the Southeast Aurora/Denver area (Near the Aurora reservoir).

Although I'm currently searching for a new player, and I'm evaluating a candidate from my 'Waiting List', I'm only looking for players who are able to commute to/from the SE Aurora area for in-person (f2f) game play. What I’m really looking for (when I'm looking for a new permanent player(s)) is someone who wants to play D&D every other weekend. Someone who is willing to play every other weekend in person (if/when possible). While I'm currently evaluating candidates from the 'Waiting List' (as of 13 Feb, 2024), I could always add new candidates (perhaps that's you?) to my waiting list - Just in case there's an opening and/or I could add you to my 'Drop-In' players listing. It's an email list for players who aren't permanent/seated members of our group, but they're willing to Drop-In to fill a temporary vacancy (when a seated player can't make it to one or more meetings).

I've got 48+ years experience DM'ing D&D campaigns (playing/DMing since ~1976).  My wife and I moved to the Denver area twenty+ years ago, and we've been playing/running a 3E campaign since then. We started out (back in 2001) with 3rd edition, and switched to 3.5 as soon as it became available. While we initially started out playing in a friend's campaign, we quickly moved back to my long running “Rob’s World!” campaign. Dusting off the old 2nd Edition AD&D Campaign, I updated it to accommodate the 3.0 and then 3.5 rules changes.

The campaign I run is D&D version 3.5, Forgotten Realms (primarily), with some house rules. If you'd like to get some idea of how I run the campaign/how it's going so far, visit my web site: <http://www.RobsWorld.org/3ecampaign.html> p.s. I'm not selling anything (including your user/personal data) there are no cookies or ads on my site: <https://www.robsworld.org/robsworldprivacypolicy.html>. The D&D/FRP materials available on my website should give you some insight into my campaign/DM'ing style. I don't use all the house rules listed on my web site (I am using most/many of the ones listed in the 3rd edition sections). See <http://www.robsworld.org/3ehsrls.pdf> for all* the house rules that we currently use. *Actually, there are more House Rules, but they’re written down, and posted online.

The current campaign (the setting/house rules/environment) has been running (with a few restarts) since Jan 1st, 2003, and we re-set the campaign back in Oct/Nov of 2019; starting over with 1st level characters. The character’s didn’t all die in a massive DM killing spree; we decided to retire the 12th level characters and start over with new ones. The higher level characters take considerably more maintenance; combat takes longer, and there are fewer adventuring opportunities ahead of them. We've moved past 1st level (currently 3rd level), but this is still an early phase of the campaign, and an excellent opportunity to get in on the beginning of a new series of adventures in our campaign. You should know that our campaign has a long arc. Don't expect advancement after every/every other session. It usually takes more than a year to complete an adventure (the 1st adventure after the reset took a year and one month to complete).

The campaign runs/meets in person at my house every other Saturday, from 1600~2200.  No evil play/characters permitted - Our campaign is looking for Heroes, not zeroes, champions and protectors, not opportunists and villains. We’re looking for players who are willing to play within a group social setting - It’s Face-To-Face D&D, not an MMORPG. We appreciate collaboration, role-playing, and the sharing of ideas.

If you're interested in joining our 3.5 edition Forgotten realms/House Rules campaign (adults only please), please send an email To: <gamers@robsworld.org>.  Our group consists of seven players and one DM (me). At the moment I'm accepting requests to be a permanently seated member, but I will put respondents who can't join as a permanently seated member on my 'waiting list' and/or 'drop-in list' (while I'm evaluating candidates from the waiting list), just in case there's an opening. If you are asked and able to join the group (as a permanently seated member), we’ll expect you to participate in a brief ‘observation’ and ‘adjustment’ period before you’re accepted as a permanent addition to our group. We want to make sure everyone’s comfortable with the change and ready to commit to our group meetings.
